Product Overview

This kit includes 1 complete vintage style Jazzmaster® Pickup Bobbin including all hardware and cover. The bobbin is pre-assembled and ready for winding. (Magnet wire is NOT included in this kit, and must be purchased separately)

This bobbin sports early vintage Jazzmaster® flush pole magnets, with your option of several different grades of Alnico. The bobbin flatwork is available in vintage black or 60's style grey.

 

Each vintage style bobbin includes: 

  • Vintage correct vulcanized fiber work (black flatwork 0.093" or grey flatwork 0.093" your option)
  • Eyelets made specifically for soldering (eyelet lip is on bottom side only providing smooth, snag-free winding)
  • 0.187" Alnico 2, 3, or 5 (your option) vintage flush mounted sand cast polepiece magnets with vintage bevel top

  • Nickel plated pickup mounting screws included
  • Comes standard with aged white pickup covers (light creamish color)

    Just the best

    I love these kits for their quality, consistency and options! I've been very disappointed with all the aftermarket JM pickups as they are too bright or too muddy. Since I don't have to worry about vintage accuracy I go for what ever wire type and amount to get what I want out of a Jazzmaster. The surprised look on people's faces when they run one of my JMs through their rig has opened many ears to the possibilities the JM offers. Get these bobbins and make your JM do your bidding!

    Great quality Kits!

    Very nice quality, put together really nice, better then i could do myself! This was my first set of jazzmaster pickups, and i must say they turned out pretty good! I used 42 Plain Enamel wire and got them to 7.48K and 7.49K, and they sound great. I did mine with both polarities the same, both north up, I've noticed on tele's with RWRP you kind of loose a little in the middle position, its probably not much or any at all, but thats how i did it. I've also got strat pickup kits from here and they are very nice as well, great place to deal with! The only thing I don't like about these JM kits, is no option on cover colors, I had to order black ones from another place, other than that, no complaints! Thanks!

    Nice kit with magnets and bobbin assembled, well packed. I opted for non magnetized because I am used to get kits as a collection of loose parts. Had I known they were packaged so nicely I would have opted for pre-magnetized. A very nice quality kit including quality covers and hookup wire. Would/ will purchase again.

    no bobbin assembly required

    When I started winding pickups, I would assemble my own bobbins. JM pickups were the trickiest to get put together, and it would take me longer getting the bobbins assembled than winding the pickup. These are assembled and come ready to wind. Great time saver. Eastgrove pickups will be using these parts consistently from now on.

    perfect fit

    When building my 1962 jazz master I needed a perfect fit. So many times this detail is missed however my tonekraft jazzmaster pickups fit my exact routing specs for the body and gaurd. As always the flatwork and magnets were top notch quality. The covers are very high quality as well. Highly recommended.

    Great quality bobbins, made a nice A2 RWRP set wound 5.6 North up on the neck, 10.8k South up on the bridge pickup. Sound awesome!
